Delivery options for this heritage oak cabinet by handmade cabinet makers, Reynolds of Ludlow.
Made
in the 1960s, this oak corner cabinet is little changed in concept,
design and style from the original wood furniture which emerged from the
British Arts and Crafts movement at the turn of the Twentieth Century.
'Let
the Wood Speak for Itself' is a fundamental principle of makers in the
Arts and Crafts tradition. Combine this 'truth to the materials' which
underpins a love of wooden furniture, together with Quaker values of
simplicity, honesty and respect for the craftsman's skills, and this
Reynolds piece is a presentation of British excellence in furniture
making through the years.
This oak corner cabinet is made of
solid, beautifully figured oak. The top half has two glazed doors with
two small, simple brass rings for opening. The base of the unit has a
single panelled door with a single brass ring. Both sections have fitted
shelves behind. The cabinet bears the metal label Reynolds of Ludlow,
the furniture making business created by cabinet maker Arthur Basil
Reynolds in Ludlow in the 1940s.
The cabinet is 175cm tall, 76cm wide, and two sides fitting to corner are each 53cm deep.
In
good, original condition - bearing gentle ring marks and memories of
ownership collected over 60 years - this cabinet is a quality addition
to your traditional and heritage home.
Suited for interior
design styles Mid Century, Modern, Craftsman, Mission, Eclectic, this
piece would sit easily at home in cottage, townhouse, or estate.
To own an Arts and Crafts piece is to continue our most precious values of dignity and integrity expressed in our surroundings.
