Vintage French Art Nouveau Fire Grate, Cast iron organic decorative motifs of women, leaves, flower buds
A superb French fire grate with the fluid lines of Art Nouveau. Hidden between organic lines of leaves and flowers are curling figures which are delightfully intricate, yet solid and robust in cast iron.
The grate comes in four sections: the decorative lower front panel with central pull; the grate at the base which is removeable; the lower backplate to protect the back iron when burning solid fuel, and the decorative fire surround itself.
The fire grate can also serve as a feature piece within a larger mantle surround, or as a finishing touch to a recessed chimney breast.
All parts fit together neatly; there are no breaks, cracks nor splits in the iron. After cleaning, we've simply left the piece to age further - as a beautiful and functional item, marking a clear origin and style.

We take a day from our workshop to deliver your items, to make sure they arrive safely at a time suited to you.
Delivery is free if you live within 50 miles of our workshop in Milton Keynes, excepting London Additional Charging.
Beyond our free zone, within every 50 miles delivery in mainland Great Britain, we use a banded fuel charge. Simply send an inquiry to Margaret at Blackphonevintage to check your collection/delivery options.
